Annual Exams and Preventative Care
Routine well-woman care
At Southland Uro+Gynecology, we also provide routine well-woman care including annual exams. These visits review symptoms of common general and gynecologic health problems. When indicated based on each patient's age and risk, screening for cancers is performed including screening for breast cancer, colon cancer and cervical cancer is performed or ordered. Family history of cancers informs need for cancer genetic testing. Blood testing is performed when needed. If any gynecology or urogynecology problems are indentified at annual exam visits, those problems are evaluated and managed at that visit when feasible. Full physical exam including breast and pelvic exams. Pelvic exams are routinely omitted for some patients; for example, virginal patients without gynecologic symptoms or problems.
